PROCESS

Phase 2 consultation has been a Government led programme, consulting on the draft Eco-towns Planning Policy Statement (PPS) and the suitability of the proposed eco-town locations. CLG are running a number of public events in the local area to the proposed eco-town sites, to engage with local stakeholders.

To support the Government's Phase 2 of consultation we have run a number of events, including one to one meetings with elected members and interested parties.

LOCAL AUTHORITY AND ELECTED MEMBER MEETINGS

Our dialogue has continued with both locally and nationally elected members and officers; through regular meetings, a scrutiny panel and joint working groups with the four authorities, as well briefings with MPs.

PUBLIC REPRESENTATIVE MEETINGS

A number of workshops have been held with national, regional and local stakeholder organisations, who together represent over one million local people. These workshops were based on the key themes of the vision for the Eco-town for Leicestershire. The outputs of which are available to download below.

A public meeting was also held for the Evington constituency - however as CLG research on community engagement has proved, attendance to, and interest in, this type of event is low, therefore more innovative methods of engagement have been explored.

Further events are planned with different groups before the close of consultation on the PPS

The website contains the most up to date information about our proposals. To date we have had nearly 1,000,000 hits and well over 100,000 documents downloaded.

All feedback we have received through the website is logged in our database and will be used to inform future development if appropriate.
